ANIMATION SOLUTIONS FOR joyful game-dev

Hi there! I’m Esther, and my goal is to support game developers in getting their unique games out into the world - in a sustainable, fulfilling way.

I’ve worked across indie, AA, and AAA spaces, and I know just how hard it is to actually make the game, especially without losing our creative joy in the process of doing so.

As your animator collaborator, I’m here to help you confidently head toward your game release with preparation and support.

ANIMATION

SERVICES

  • SCOPE + PLANNING

  • GAMEPLAY CO-DEVELOPMENT

  • DISCIPLINE LEAD WORK

  • CRAFT + CAREER MENTORSHIP

You know the game you’re making, AND…

You need answers to things like what kind of animations to make, who do you need to make them, and how to make them within your timeline and budget.

YOU DON’T HAVE an ANIMation team YET, BUT…

The designers are already designing, the characters are already character-ing, and you need an experienced gameplay anim to hop in NOW while you hire your dream team.

YOU’RE starting a new project or studio, and…

You could use an animation director in the room while you figure out big project and studio decisions together.

you’re already a (kick-butt) anim lead, but…

You want a “mini-me” (of you) for a moment. Maybe you’re new to managing artists, or you need space for more focus time. Maybe there’s some leadership tasks you’d REALLLY prefer someone else do this time.

WHAT I’VE WORKED ON

We’re blocked by the lack of the right animations.
— - Gameplay Designers
We need better visibility on the scope and status of animations.
— - Audio + VFX
We need to an accurate way to track animation work.
— - Producers
We need to know if the rig is production-ready.
— - Riggers
We need to know if we’re able to make this game at all! Also where did my focus time go-
— - every stressed-out lead ever

the wide-ranging impact of animation

That’s RIGHT, I said it! I believe healthy animation decisions can support all the other disciplines who work upstream and downstream from animation content.

From both my IC and leadership background on a wide range of projects, I know how deeply animation is entrenched in the middle of content pipelines. Animation can impact how effectively game content gets made as well as the work quality-of-life of the devs making that content.
